First up was junior Parker, who was making a return to the ring after a year’s absence.

In the first round it was his opponent S. Walmsley of Grimsby ABC taking the points and the round.

With the coaches in Callum’s corner instructing him to step up his work rate, he did exactly that and levelled the scoring to one round each.

Callum came out in the third and final round throwing good straight shots and hooks and had the better work rate.

Walmsley was on the defence for most of the round, boxing on his back foot, but the result - a split decision going in favour of Parker - was the right one.

Probably the best contest of the night involved Pagden making his debut against Jason Gooding of Bad Boyz.

Billy’s opponent was the quicker off the mark going forward, but as the round went on, Billy grew in confidence and was making some good work count.

When round two came, Gooding came out all guns blazing and his work rate gave Billy a standing count.

Sitting on the stool ahead of the third and final round, the coaches instructed Billy to keep his guard up and go all out.

Not letting them down this is just what he did, catching Gooding with a great shot and seeing him also to take a standing count.

When the announcement was made, it went in favour of Gooding on a split decision.

Both boxers received a warm round of applause for a hard fought contest.
