Boston Cricket Club announce new captains and vice-captains

He will take over from longstanding skipper Tom Baxter, it was announced following Wednesday’s AGM.

Scott Elleray will act as Cheer’s vice-captain for 2020’s Lincs ECB Premier campaign.

Boston CC chairman Chris Wade paid tribute to Baxter, who will remain at the club in aplaying capacity following eight years as captain.

“I certainly would like to thank Tom, without him I’d never have got involved in the job in the first place,” he said.

“His dedication to the club on and off the field is what’s kept me going.

“If every club could have more Tom Baxters.”

Damo Lawson was confirmed as the Second XI captain with Dan Fox vice-captain.

The Thirds will be skippered by Kevin Manning with ian Morris his vice-captain.

Pete Mitchell is the new Sunday captain with Rowan Evans his vice-captain.
