BOWLS: Round-up of Coningsby and Boston leagues

It was cup week in the Coningsby and District Bowls League, both competitions having reached the quarter-final stage.

In the Jubilee Cup (played for by Division One and Two clubs), the results were: Woodhall Spa A lost at home to Castle 48-55, Forbes Road beat Swineshead 57-43, Friskney A were narrowly beaten by Sleaford Road 52-56, and Freiston beat Boston West End A 58-47.

In the Fred Powell Trophy (played for by Division Three and Four clubs), the results were: Kirton B lost at home against BBC 36-57, Wrangle B beat Stickney 54-48, Wrangle A beat Donington 52-44, and Bicker beat Jubilee Park A by a narrow 51-49

There was one re-arranged Division Four match in which Ruskington beat Horncastle 85-21 (8-0)

n Burton House are leading Boston and District Bowls Three Wood League Division One with 81 points, BBC are second on 65 and Kirton third with 61.

Results: Burton House beat BBC 74-53 (10-2), Woodhall Spa Town beat Sibsey 76-59 (10-2), Castle lost to Kirton 58-73 (1-11), and Wigtoft beat Sleaford 80-55 (11-1).

In Division Two, Forbes Road lead the way on 62 points, Freiston are second on 56 and Goodfellowship are third with 51.

Results: Jubilee Park beat Goodfellowship 80-60 (9-3), Swineshead lost to Freiston 61-66 (4-6), and Forbes Road beat Wrangle 103-43 (10-2)

In the Two Wood League, Burton House lead Division One with 50 points, Sleaford Road are second with 40 and Woodhall Spa Town third on 29.

Results: Bicker beat Woodhall 85-68 (10-2), Swineshead lost against Burton House 48-111 (0-12), and leaford Road beat West End 77-70 (10-2)

BBC are leaders in Division Two with 46 points, Freiston are second on 42 and Kirton are third with 39.

Results: Jubilee Park lost at home to Kirton 65-95 (3-9), Freiston beat Jubilee Park 53-47 (10-2), West End beat Forbes Road 99-66 (10-2), and BBC beat Kirton 74-60 (8-4)

In the Three Wood nine player league, Friskney are leading Division One with 43 points, Freiston B are second on 32 and Freiston A are third with 31.

Results: Freiston B beat Goodfellowship by 59-37 (10-0) and Freiston A just lost at Friskney by 50-47 (7-3)

In Division Two, unfortunately Donington have had to withdraw from the league so the matches that they played in have been scratched from the records.

Wigtoft top the league with 33 points, Kirton A are second with 31 and Forbes Road are third on 18.

The only result for the week saw Sibsey beaten by Kirton A 39-45 (2-8)
