On this occasions the visitors gained the bragging rights in a 108-118 victory.

Nigel Moxon joined by Eileen Chambers, Dave Chambers and Alan Horne were neck and neck with their opponents for five ends, then the Humberside set took a slight lead only to be pulled back to 10-10. Then Sleaford pulled away to lead 14-11 but three solid ends from Humberside, picking up 10 shots, resulted in a 16-21 defeat.

Keith Richards’ set of Di Watson, Carol Wallis and Les Richardson matched their opposite set for the first five ends, then began to totally dominate the game with heavy scoring to lead 23-6. But this sudden burst of bowling seemed to motivate Humberside who stepped up their game to score 14 shots without reply to almost overtake Sleaford, however the home team had just a little bit more in the tank, scoring three on the last end to win 27-20.

Larry Davies with Betty Bowyer, Sylvia Goate and Mike Goate were involved in a very even game until the last three ends when they picked up six shots to win 18-13.

Pauline Hansen’s set of Angeline Taylor, Yvonne Paul and Andrew Morris were never able to take the lead and lost heavily 11-28.

Terry Wallis with Norman Stock, Barbara Leonard and Gloria Davies won the first end but were placed under constant pressure by the visiting team and never hit the front, losing 13-24.
