The weather was kind to us and the team had a very good match, scoring 59 shots and four points, against 54 and two, to take victory.

Everyone played very well and thanks go to Polly Tennant and Keith Revill for stepping in to help us out. Polly did very well considering it was her first league match and hopefully she will get over her nerves to play for the team again.

Ten pairs entered the club competition for members only, with the winners decided by the most matches won and most shots scored.

First were Jean Wood and Frank Manley and runners-up were Joan and Alf Herrick.

In the Friday evening Coningsby League Third Division, JPBC played away at Heckington, winning two rinks and drawing one with the highest shots aggregate, giving a total of seven points.

JPBC ‘A’ hosted Horncastle in the Friendly League North Division and managed to win one rink 18 shots to nine and draw one 17 all to score three points.

They also hosted Woodpeckers in a re-arranged match and gained six points.

Results: Peter Brown, Hazel Bolton and Joan Herrick won 22-14; Dave Dobbs, Anthony Tennant and Angie Crampton won 36-4; Roy Crampton, Angie Brown and Jim Brown won 31-15.
