Burton completes Newton's Fraction

The race is one of the county’s most popular road races, with more than 500 people entering the event, which begins at Grantham’s running track and takes in a towpath, country roads and some hills for good measure.

Kirton runner John took on the driving wind and rain to finish in 1:43.36, which included holding back slightly up one of the hills to help a fellow runner who was struggling.

“It was a bit wet and slippery along the towpath”, John reported.

“But all in all, a very enjoyable run.”

John will officially be running for his new club from the start of April.

Boston Community Runners have been set up to give Boston its own dedicated road running group and is open to beginners through to seasoned runners.
