They again picked up maximum points to widen their lead at the top to seven points.

Matched against Punchbowlers, skip Les Feary (24-16) and Chris Gill (14-11) both won, despite being given rough rides.

Eastenders moved themselves into second, picking up maximum points from bottom team Norprint.

England international Matt Whyers won 18-13 and Paul Flatters succeeded 24-11.

Holland Fen were pushed down to third as they only won two points from their game with Royal Mail.

Winning the points for the Fenmen were Andrew Grant, Ab French and Alex Tomlin, who squeezed home 16-13.

The Fenmen’s trio of Palmer, Hardstaff and K. French were demolished by the Mail’s Neil Harrison, Ken Jow and Alan Hill, who secured a hotshot on their way to a 10- 29 success.

This result for the Mail lifted them above A40 as they fell to second bottom IBC.

For A40, Jean Cammack hung on to two points with an 18-17 result.

Replying for IBC, Steve Shaw, Richard Toy and Mick Asplen won 18-21.

Mid-table Jolly Farmers leapfrogged Invaders as Scott Whyers’ 18-20 was bettered by Rita Epton’s 20-14.

Swineshead beat Patriarchs 6-0 with wins of 32-10 and 28-16 for skips Alan Westrup and Freddie Scrupps.

The game of the week in the T&B Containers Division Two was the top-of-the-table clash between Strollers and Feathers, which resulted in the Feathers going equal top with their opponents after claiming five points.

Feathers’ Bill Mortlock tied 17-17 with Strollers’ Mick Hippisley before Feathers’ Geoff Dawson secured a 14-13.

Red 5 are finding it tough going at the moment, having slipped from first to fifth.

Against Amateurs they were held to a tied game overall.

Amateurs’ Pat Weaver won 9-16 and, replying for Red 5, skip Bill Hodges won 21-14 for 30 shots apiece.

Boston Park lost out to Breakaways as Alan Batchelor’s 24-10 was bettered by Gordon Gallichan’s reply of 4-31 for Breakaways.

Crowns captain Peter Copeland won 26-14 for four points as John Riches, for Poachers, replied 13-20.

The Golfers proved too strong for the Burtons and won on both rinks, successes coming for David Marshall (25-18) and Graham Scarboro (26-13).

Parthians versus Central saw the Parthians win all the points, Pete Bedford (17-16) and Sandra McDonald (24-13) finishing on top.

In the Cammacks Division Three, leaders Autos - on a bye week - were able to watch their nearest rivals Cosmos fail to pick up a point against Sibsey.

Adam Hodgson won 20-13 and Alan Dunnett triumphed 23-10.

Traders versus Fairways saw the latter win as Gordon Neal’s 15-16 bettered by Pam Toy, Hazel Smith and Carol Nundy winning 34-4.

Nomads have yet to record their first win of the season.

Wins of 40-5 and 18-14 saw U3 claim all the points.

Vikings moved seven points ahead of Shipmates in the table when they also won all the points.

Keith Stones won 23-8 and Doug Staples succeeded 21-14.

Dynamics defeated Highflyers, Nigel Smith, Paul Pinder and Graham Wilkinson (22-15) and Barrie Beagles, Don Williams and John Davies (27-10) finishing on top.
