Chunky Monkeys swing into Division One top spot

There is little to report in the third week of the Gainsborough and District Table Tennis League season due to matches not being played because of illness and scorecards not being handed in.

In Division One Blitz Club Chunky Monkeys put up a good display to overcome stablemates Bulldogs 6-4 and they now occupy top position in the table.

Chris Gamble claimed a good victory in the last rubber of the match to clinch the win for his team.

The only other match in this division was the first at this level for Blues Club Dynamics against the experienced Liberal Branch Meteors.

It was the Meteors who powered to a 9-1 victory to go third in the table.

For Dynamics, Ray Lovely claimed their one success when he got the better of his opponent in the ninth rubber.

It was a similar story in Division Two, with only two matches being played.

Blues Club Kestrels went to the top of the table after a very good 10-0 win over the young lads from Willingham.

Blitz Club Eagles occupy second spot in the table after an 8-2 victory against clubmates Falcons.

The Blitz Club Eagles victory came thanks to three wins for Daniel Davies and two each for Josh Croft and Harry Tomlinson.

Falcons are yet to claim a victory, but in this outing ththey put up a good fight and the side are showing improvement in each match they play.
