Clowne: Experience is key as club trio all win medals at County Championships

Three members of Clowne Road Runners travelled to Newstead Abbey and ran the 5km Notts County Championship race .

The course was a challenging out-and-back within the Abbey grounds and the event attracted more than 200 runners competing in various age categories for the three county medals. .

First Clowne runner home was Ged Naylor in a time of 18:41,e earning him the bronze in the over-50s category.

He was followed in by Dennis Learad (22:23) who claimed silver in the over-60s category.

Finally, John Profitt made it three out of three or podium finishes by Clowne runners when clocked 25:27 to finish to win silver in the over-70s section.

Louise Lowe was the lone runner representing Clowne at the Yorkshire Wolds Half-Marathon.

Held over an undulating course run around Bishop Wilton, with more than 290 metres of climbing, Lowe completed the course in 1:35:37 to finish second lady.

Peter Twigg travelled to Nottingham completed the Notts 5-mile race in 30:51.

Helen Callender was also in action for Clowne, completing the Prince in the Park 5km race in 25:32.
