County titles lifted

Horncastle bowlers who had qualified for the area finals at Boston IBC claimed three county titles between them.

Keith Jackman and Mary Johnson beat a Stamford pair 20-11 to win the mixed pairs while Mary Johnson, Olive Wells and Jill King beat Spalding’s side 16-10 to win the county ladies’ triples.

Mary Johnson played her third final, teaming up with Olive Wells to win the ladies’ county pairs, 18-12 against Skegness.

George Lancaster played in the over 60s singles final against the previous year’s winner, Mick Dolby, from Stamford.

George missed out 15-11 in a tight game.
