AT Green Lane Aston Hall moved above the more fancied teams into fourth place after a narrow win over bottom of the table, Darfield.

Hide AdAston Hall lost the toss and were asked by Darfield to bat first.
Marshall Pooley opened up with a solid 22, Scott Hibbett (21) and Matt Sheppard (23) were the only other Aston scorers to get into the 20s, but Carl Tiler returned to the Green Lane outfit, which added extra depth to the order and on his return he scored a well earned 40 before getting a excellent delivery from Irfan Mirza (3 for 61).
Darfield’s overseas star, Tahir Maqsood, took the limelight with the ball, bowling a very economical spell of 13 overs and securing 5 for 31.

Hide AdDarfield’s skipper Hadfield got them off to a steady start with a score of 27 before being caught behind.
The game eventually hung on a innings from Simon Potter who grafted well for a score of 43.
Darfield were poised to claim their first earned point of the season with just 24 runs needed, but two wickets fell at this point including Potter and the game swung back in Aston’s favour as Darfield were bowled out for 148, short by 10 runs. Asadullah Butt put in a good performance to claim 4 for 30 for Aston.
