North Wheatley with Leverton got back on the winning trail in the Bassetlaw Cricket League Championship Division on Saturday.

Visiting Retford, they scored 210 for eight with Richard Robinson top for scoring on 65 and Pat Stutt giving good support with a useful 39 not out.

They then bowled out the hosts for 151 with Jamie Bovill taking 3 for 30 to win by 59 runs.

But it was disappointment for Wiseton in Division One when they travelled to Caythorpe II.

They restricted the hosts to 149 all out with Matt Loates returning figures of 4 for 20, but then were dismissed for 125 with only James Moss (45) offering any resistance to the Caythorpe attack.

Everton had to settle for a rain for affected draw away to West Indian Cavaliers 2nds. The hosts posted a formidable 196 for three and Everton were on 102 for 4 (Gareth Campion 45 not out) when rain stopped play.

In Division Three Lea Park were also frustrated by the weather when they visited Mansfield and Pleasley 2nds. The hosts scored 229 for 7 and Lea Park were on 59 for 0 when the rain came.

It was a bad day for local teams in Division Four with only North Wheatley with Leverton 2nds managing to avoid defeat

At Wheatley visitors Notts and Arnold Amateur 3rds scored 188 for 9 and the hosts were hanging on at the end on 98 for 8.

At Middlefield Lane Marshalls scored 187 for 7 against visitors Clay Cross Works with Martyn Snell, Mark Whitlam and Shaun Metclafe all getting in the forties, but Clay Cross managed to reach their winning target with four wickets to spare.

Rose Leisure returned from Woodsetts with an 84 for run defeat, the hosts scoring 190 all out (Michael Spencer 3 for 31) and then bowling Roses out for 106 with only Ashley Clay on 32 getting among the runs.

Everton 2nds entertained visitors Blidworth 2nds and succumbed to a 77 for run defeat. The visitors scored a formidable 223 for 5 and then bowled Everton out for 146 with Tom Mills scoring a defiant 46.

It was better news in Division Five where Misterton returned to winning ways against Mansfield Hosiery Mills 3rds at Marsh Lane.

They bowled the visitors out for 70 with Dave Lawson taking 3 for 19 and then an unbeaten 36 from Darren Emmingham saw them home by eight wickets.

In Division Six Wiseton 2nds lost by 31 runs when entertaining Woodsetts 2nds, the visitors scoring 140 for 7 and then bowling Wiseton out for 109.
