Bank Holiday weekend to forget

MARSHALLS suffered a Bank Holiday weekend to forget, with two defeats in the space of three days.

The Bassetlaw Cricket League Championship side didn’t take any points from Saturday’s visit of Farnsfield, and just two from their trip to Anston on Monday.

Saturday saw them dismissed for 136, Matthew Snee top scoring with an impressive 57.

But Farnsfield took an eight wicket victory, knocking off the total for the loss of just two batsmen.

On Monday Marshalls were all out for 144, Greg Andrews makign 37 and Jack Senescall 30.

Anston lost three wickets on their way to the required runs.

Lea Park fared a little better in Division Two, taking six points from their defeat at Thoresby Colliery, and then beating Grassmoor by 55 runs on Monday.

Chris Needham made 52 in Saturday’s four wicket loss.

Division One’s Wiseton were beaten by Mansfield and Pleasley on Saturday, by 33 runs, despite Matt Loates’ knock of 69.

And on Monday they had a losing draw with Blidworth, Tom Lane notching 51 runs.
