Boston CC begin campaign by hosting Woodhall Spa CC

Boston Cricket Club will host last year’s Lincs ECB Premier champions Woodhall Spa at the Mayflower today (noon).

Top flight action returns to the county this weekend, with clubs divided into five-team North and South divisions.

The remaining weeks will see Boston, under the new captaincy of Jonny Cheer, face three of the five North Division sides, which includes Woodhall.

Points won from these inter matches will be added to each team’s tally in their league standings.

The matches are played to Royal London Club Championship rules - 40 overs, a maximum of eight overs per bowler and three power plays. Teams will earn four points for a win and two for a draw, with no bonuses.

Also joining Boston in the South Group for this summer’s shortened season will be Bourne, Market Deeping, Grantham and Sleaford, with Bracebridge Heath, Lindum, Louth and Scunthorpe joining Woodhall in the North Division.
