Boston CC stalwart John McGarel honoured for decades of service

Boston Cricket Club stalwart John McGarel has been honoured for decades of hard work at the Mayflower.

Mr McGarel was presented with a certificate by the High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, Michael Scott.

Mr McGarel, a former chairman of Boston CC, has been an integral part of the club for 20 years, playing important roles in both senior and junior cricket.

“There are countless children at the club and in the area who owe everything to John, from introducing them to the game of cricket, supporting them and getting them to games and training and developing the game at the club and in the wider area,” Mr Scott said.
