Boston CC Firsts travel to Bracebridge Heath on Saturday - with both sides looking for their opening win of the Lincs ECB Premier campaign.

The Lincoln-based side were beaten by Sleaford on Saturday while the Mayflower men - who are likely to be without Tom Poole and Mahir Yousuff this weekend - were undone by Grantham.

“It’s tough with our strongest side out because there are some strong sides in this league and it’s obviously even harder when you have a few players missing,” skipper Jonny Cheer said.

“I’m hoping for a much better performance from the team. We’ve got to give it our all and take it one game at a time.”

Also on Saturday, the Seconds host Bourne and Thirds entertain Newborough.

Boston Firsts began their Premier campaign by hosting Grantham at the Mayflower - the visitors claiming a nine-wicket victory.

“It wasn’t a great day at all. It was never going to be easy against Grantham,” said captain Jonny Cheer.

“They have a really strong side and will be wanting to win the league this season, especially after missing out in last year’s final.

“These aren’t the games that will define our season but we need to be better and picking up points, even in the games we don’t win.”
