Carter guides Caistor CC to victory, defeat for Market Rasen Firsts

Market Rasen Firsts were beaten by 106 runs at Grimsby Town in the Lincolnshire County League Premier Division on Saturday.

Dale Chambers, Daley Snell and Neil Davies each took two wickets as the hosts reached 265 for 9 off their 45 overs.

Matthew Rutherford (45) and Will Bradford (31) scored well for Rasen but the side were out for 159.

Caistor beat visitors Cleethorpes Seconds by five wickets.

Sean Woolley and Will Carter took three victims each as the hosts were out for 122.

Carter’s 68 guided Caistor to 123 for 5.

In the Bob Welton Cup Rasen’s Seconds secured victory over Clee Town Laportes.

Meanwhile, Rasen’s Sunday side claimed 20 points in the Lincoln and District League Division Three when they travelled to Nettleham Academy.

A half century from Will Morton (58) led the away side to 150 for 7, with support from Phil Brown (38), Deklan Binnington (17) and Sandeep Reddy (13).

Nettleham were out for 148 with Reddy and Jack Ashcroft-Day both taking three wickets.
