Derby defeat for Retford

North Wheatley with Leverton secured maximum points from their local derby against Retford, thanks to a 54-run victory.

The hosts set a modest total on Saturday, Richard Robinson (33) and Jamie Sizer (44*) top scoring with the bat in North Wheatley’s 162 for 8 as Pascal Broadley took 3 for 39.

But in reply, Retford were only able to make 108 before they were dismissed.

For the Cricket Field Lane men Clive Savage made 32, and for the hosts Sizer took 5 for 43 and James Watmough 3 for 15.

At Stone Close, Ordsall Bridon thrashed Kiveton Park by nine wickets to take 20 points.

The home side were skittled for 139, with Tim Miles taking 4 for 27.

Ordsall Bridon knocked off the required runs for the loss of just David Fagan (34), with Paul van den Heuval (53*) and Miles (42*) carrying their bats.

Division One side Everton beat West Indian Cavaliers II by eight wicket.

Henry Eldred picked up 5 for 47 and Jon Shaw 3 for 47, as Cavaliers were dismissed for 133.

In reply, Jon Mimms was unbeaten on 71, helping Everton to 136 for 2 and 20 points.

Ordsall Bridon’s second team, in Division Two, beat Glapwell II by six wickets.

Harrison Chalkley had impressive figures of 4 for 2, Glapwell all out for just 94 runs.

The Ordsall Bridon men hit 95 for 4, Luke and Jake Tong unbeaten on 42 and 30 runs respectively.

Retford II had a losing draw with Wadworth.

At Cricket Field Lane the visitors were all out for 117, Kevin Pattenden (3 for 18) and Bradley Wilson (3 for 34) playing starring roles.

In reply Retford II made 78 for 6 to secure six points from the game.
