Great Scott hits century for Heckington, victories for Sleaford but defeat for Billingborough - cricket

Sleaford Cricket Club Firsts got their eye in with a 17-run friendly victory at Oakham at the weekend, Aayush Patel (60) and Shaan Patel (50) top scoring while Shaan Patel took four wickets and Andy Hibberd three.

Sleaford Seconds began their SLBL Division campaign with victory over Boston Seconds at London Road.

Half centuries from Ben Lambert (54) and Kieran Harbron (52) helped the hosts post 198 before being dismissed in the 44th over.

Conor Harbron (38) and Daniel Hutson (15) added valuable runs.

Boston captain Damo Lawson took four wickets for the loss of 46 runs, with Dan Fox adding three victims and Ben Troops two.

Boston were dismissed for 149, Rowan Evans (45), Tom Poole (21), Lawson (15), Jack Tetther (13), Fox (11) and Jo Gilbert (10) reaching double figures.

Scott Tite and Max Lorimer took three wickets apiece with Conor Harbron adding two.

Sleaford Thirds were beaten by two wickets at Skegness Seconds in the SLBL Division Two.

Ian Glendening (35), Ian Shorthouse (31), Ben Broom (28) and Thomas Chapman (19) top scored as Sleaford recorded 159.

Henry Houldon and Solomon Bailey took four wickets each.

Skegness reached 160 for 8 in the 47th over.

Steve Scott hit a century as Heckington CC beat Boston Seconds by 127 runs in the SLBL Division One.

Heckington posted 232 for 5, with Scott (123 not out) and Will Charlesworth (59) doing most of the damage.

Liam Maskell (38) was the pick of the batsmen as Boston were dismissed for 105.

Damon Tunnicliffe and Rob Townsend each took three wickets.

Heckington’s Sunday side were beaten by 15-runs at Lincoln and District League Division Three rivals Revesby.

Ian Tyler (45) and Simon May (19) helped the away side to 121.

Aaron Machin took four wickets for Heckington, who were dismissed for 106.

Callum Kopp (35) and Robert Arnold (19) were the hosts’ top scorers.

Billingborough Sunday Firsts were beaten by 88 runs at Woodhall Spa in the Lincoln and District League Division One.

Alex Hodson (57) and Alex King (28) guided the Spa Men to 160.

Callum Scott took three wickets and Jed Humphries two.

Billingborough were dismissed for 72, Chris King (I18) and Christy Turner (15 not out) top scoring.
