This match was the game in hand that both clubs had over all the others in the Eastern Division.

Alex Willerton returned after injury, James Kimber made his debut and Anish Patel returned after almost a season’s absence.

Norfolk won the toss and in warm and sunny conditions elected to bat. A substantial crowd was present to witness the opening overs of a crucial match for both sides.

Norfolk made a steady start, totalling 59 before their first wicket fell. A second wicket stand of 72 boosted the home side total.

At 205-5 the match was in the balance until a sixth wicket partnership of 92 tilted the game Norfolk’s way.

At this point, opener James Spelman was dismissed for a fine 158.

Lincs then forced their way back into the game taking a further three wickets for the addition of only 31 runs, Norfolk closing their innings after their allotted 90 overs on 339-9.

Norfolk obtained maximum four batting points and Lincolnshire maximum four bowling points.

By the close of play, Lincs had progressed to 64-1 from 27 overs, with Louis Kimber 29 not out. Jonny Tattersall being the man dismissed for 35.
