LINCS ECB PREMIER: Round-up

Peter Morgan scored the day's only century in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League as Bourne put a dent in Sleaford's title hopes with a three wicket victory over their neighbours.

Sleaford posted a respectable 225 for nine, Andy Hibberd making 50 and Ben Collins taking five wickets for Bourne, who lost two wickets to Shaun Morris with only 29 on the board.

Morgan then joined Carl Wilson to put on 137 and when Wilson was out for 66, Ben Stroud and Morgan added a further 52 and Morgan was still there on 108 as Bourne claimed victory.

Bracebridge now have an 18 point cushion at the top after a game against Nettleham that produced two half centuries and two five wicket hauls.

Vikram Atri made 69 and Adi Sreedharan took five for 46 as Bracebridge reached 182 for eight off their 50 overs.

Nettleham’s pursuit was going well on 95 for three, Rhett Bridgens hitting 53, but this quickly became 100 for eight as Matt Bradley and Matt Carter swung into action and the final wicket fell on 116, Bradley taking five for 38.

Lindum moved up to second after wet weather reduced their game against Grantham to 88 overs.

Grantham found batting difficult on a damp track, scoring 113 for nine, a total Lindum overtook for the loss of four wickets.

Skegness slipped closer to the relegation zone after going down heavily to Louth despite Norman Brackley’s five wickets that helped restrict the visitors to 173 all out.

Laurence Scott hit 58 for Louth and Andy Carrington and Keaton Critchell then raced through the home side’s top order to leave Skegness on 11 for five.

Sean Chamberlain and Ray Jordan steadied the ship with a stand of 40, Jordan making 40 before being bowled by Carrington and the lower order dug in but the final wicket fell on 95, Critchell with five for 33 and Carrington taking four for 27 off 13 overs.

Skegness are now only two points above Boston who are in turn six above Grimsby after the two met at Augusta Street where Michael Brown took five for 35 as Boston were bowled out for 128.

Grimsby got off to a good start, Neal Snell and Joe Farmery sharing an opening partnership of 52 before both fell on this score.

Steve Crossley and Jack Wilson added another 30 but when Wilson went for 27, Grimsby lost three wickets with the score on 106.

This left Brown at the crease with Hayden Tice and this partnership saw Grimsby to victory and 20 points.

Woodhall Spa stay sixth in the table after Joe Irving hit 53 of their 218 for nine at home to Market Deeping who were then bowled out for 168.
