Opening bowlers Kristian Adams and Harvey Lake didn’t find their usual lines and lengths and Rasen were 33-0 before the introduction of in-form Tom Corden, who made the breakthrough.

This initiated a further three wickets for four runs, thanks to 2-16 off 10 from the ever consistent Adams and 2-30 off 10 from Corden to put Louth on top in the game with Rasen 37-4 though with plenty of overs left.

What followed was an inspired spell from young leg spinner Henry Househam.

Already with a 5-fer to his name this season, he continued this fine form by taking wickets regularly and ending Rasen's innings with a special six wickets for six runs, Louth bowling the home side out for 66.

Louth openers Alfie West (8) and Mike Brown (24) set about chasing the low total, West falling early but Ethan Garner and Brown then took Louth to 41-1 and in charge.

Credit to Rasen for sticking at it as Louth stumbled, losing six more wickets for only 18 runs and teetering on 59-7.

However, reliable Graham West (4 not out) and Josh Brindle (2 not out) finally eased Louth over the line on 67-7.

Player of the match was Henry Househam for his 6-6.

Louth host Alkborough at home at London Road Pavilion on Saturday.
