Market Rasen CC and Caistor CC will both begin competitive action this weekend.

Both First XIs will be in action in the Lincolnshire County League Premier Division, hoping for a full campaign after last summer’s action was affected by Covid-19.

Market Rasen hit the road to face Cleethorpes Seconds at Chichester Road.

Caistor, meanwhile, are preparing for a home contest.

Scothern will be the visitors to Brigg Road.

Market Resen Seconds will also begin their campaign in the Lincolnshire County League Second Division.

They are also facing an away trip, travelling to face opponents Normanby Park.

The following weekend sees two Rasen sides play their first home contests of the campaign.

The Firsts will host Nettleham at Rase Park on the Saturday, again in Premier Division action.

A day later the Sunday Firsts entertain Owmby Trojans in the Lincoln and District League Division Three.

Also on April 24, Caistor Seconds will return to the crease.

They will host Scunthorpe Town Thirds at Brigg Road in the Lincolnshire County League Third Division.

Caistor Firsts are scheduled to travel to Haxey for a Premier Division contest.

Preparation hasn’t been ideal for cricket clubs this year.

With outdoor sport only allowed to return fromMarch 29, many clubs have not been able to carry out their usual pre-season net sessions.
