South Lincs and Border League: Billingborough slip to first defeat

Billingborough held on to second spot behind Woodhall Spa in South Lincolnshire and Border League Premier Division despite losing to third-placed Freiston.

In a game that included five-half centuries, Sleaford CC Second XI finished on 229-6, only to see Woodhall complete a four-0wicket win.

Abdul Moeed took five wickets as Freiston bowled Billingborough out for 183 before the newly-promoted side lost eight wickets on their way to victory.

Sleaford now lie fourth with Skegness in fifth after an eight-wicket win over Boston.

* Max Cusack took five wickets for Moulton Harrox for only one run against Billingborough Second XI in Division One.

Moulton made 278-5, thanks to Jack Barnett (81) and Joe Broomfield (77) before bowling bottom side Billingborough out for just 63.

Skegness Second XI made it a double for the club with a two-wicket win over second-bottom Timberland, with Jason Elsom taking six wickets, and Welby Cavaliers beat Boston Third XI by eight wickets.

In Division Two, Graves Park recorded the day’s highest team total with 299-9 against Heckington who were bowled out for 40.
