Taverners win but it's a frustrating Saturday for Louth CC

Louth Firsts were beaten by two wickets at Scunthorpe Town in the Lincs ECB Premier on Saturday.

Thomas Cuthbert and Matthew Hamilton both recorded 33 runs as Louth posted 178, but the hosts responded with 179 for 8.

Thomas Giles took four wickets and Aaron Keverne-Onyon three.

Louth Seconds were beaten by six wickets as Barton visited in a Bob Welton Cup contest.

Graham West hit 75 Louth runs as his side made 115 but Barton made it to 116 for the loss of just four wickets.

Louth Thirds completed a frustrating day with yet another defeat.

Against Lincolnshgire County League Third Division rivals Brigg the hosts made 131 runs, Stephen Parkinson supplying an unbeaten 70.

Brigg reached 134 for 4, with Henry Househam, taking two wickets.

Phil Burrell scored an unbeaten century as Louth Taverners won by nine wickets at South Bank in the East Lindsey League on Sunday.

His 101 runs took Louth to 126 for 1 after the hosts had been dismissed for 121.

Maqbool Ahmad took five South Bank wickets.

Jake McLoughlin (55) and George Gregory (36) earned Alford and District CC a 10-wicket success against Broughton in the Bob Welton Cup on Saturday.

With the visitors out for 92 the openers did the business.

Jack Wightwick took three Broughton wickets.
