Marshalls made their first ever visit to Greenlands Park to face an experinced Anston side, and came away with all 20 points.

Upon losing the toss, skipper Plumtree was invited to bat on a very green wicket.

Whitlam and Snell again opened up for the Gainsborough side, and after a tight opening spell from the Anston bowlers the pair put on a stand of 163, before Snell was adjuged LBW for 71.

Metcalfe joined Whitlam and helped the opening batsman make his first 100 of the season.

Whitlam was eventuallly out for a terrific 110.

Favill (4*)and Metcalfe (21*) then bought the innings to a close, leaving Marshalls on a very good 254 for 2 after their allocated overs.

After a good tea, Marshalls soon pegged Anston back with Ridler and Street bowling good areas.

Ridler was first to strike, with the batsman caught well behind the stumps by Favill.

The introduction of youngster Raisborough soon bought dividends with him grabbing a wicket after another edge behind to the ever improving Favill.

Anston were now trying to bat out the remaining 30 overs but Plumtree and Street claimed two wickets apiece and Ridler added another.

And when Raisborough finished with four wickets for the loss of 10 runs, it sealed victory for Gainsborough.
