Winning draw ends Retford CC season

RETFORD Cricket Club ended the season with a winning draw in the Bassetlaw Championship.

Hosting local rivals North Wheatley with Leverton, Retford made 190 for 9, with Mark Bull (52) and Jon Cooke (59) starring with the bat.

North Wheatley with Leverton could then only reach 170 for the loss of nine by close of play.

Paul Singleton was the tormentor in chief taking 6 for 44 for Retford.

Ordsall took nine points from their draw with Glapwell, despite making an impressive 254 for 8, Matt Makings accounting for 76 of those runs.

Glapwell’s 294 for 7 was enough for victory, although David Fagan took three wickets for Ordsall as they captured nine points.

The results left Retford third in the Championship table, behind winners Farnsfield and runners-up Anston, while Ordsall Bridon were sixth and North Wheatley with Leverton finished 10th in the table.
