CYCLING: Woodhall Spa's Hutchinson gets season off to a good start
Woodall Spa's Paul Hutchinson started his road race season at round one of the Velo 99 road race series at Car Colston.
It was a handicapped race with six groups and Velo-One Cycling Team’s Paul started with the last, fastest scratch group.
The race saw some early breaks, with VC Long Eaton rider Ian King establishing a lead from the scratch group. As they entered the last mile, the scratch group passed all of the other riders from the other groups, leaving just King ahead to complete his heroic solo effort and take the win.
With just over 400m remaining, Paul began his attack to the line, passing several riders and finishing fifth for a great race overall and a solid start to the season.
