Cyclists out despite cold

The riders decided to stay together and the route was up Gamston Hill, through Laneham, Rampton, Cottam, Sturton le Steeple to Saundby and Rosie’s café.

The return journey was direct to Retford making a total distance of 40 miles.

This Sunday the ride is to Thorne Lakes, a return distance of about 60 miles through picturesque flat country, stopping at the Lakeside cafe.

Riders meet in Retford Market Square at 9am.

On 15th December the Retford Wheelers five mile Christmas Fancy Dress Time Trial will be on the Carlton-Tuxford course.

Meet in Retford Market Square at 9am to ride out to Newark Road car park, Tuxford at 10am to enter and then ride on to Carlton for the start.

This is followed in the afternoon by The Retford Wheelers annual Christmas dinner and prize presentation at The Markham Moor Hotel at 4.30pm.
