Dads v Lads orienteering

Bassetlaw’s orienteers had the choice of two venues last weekend, with races at either Newmiller Dam, near Wakefield or Ratby, near Leicester.

Top three placings were recorded at the Ratby event by Tom Cooley who came second on the White Course and Alexander Ridgway who cane third on the Light Green Course.

At Newmiller Dam, Will Parkinson came fourth on a very fast but technical Blue Course.

The Easter weekend is time of the JK International Orienteering Festival. This year the urban race is in Livingstone, near Edinburgh, while the relay and two individual races are based around Pitlochry.

The relay this year has an added interest in the Men’s Short Race class with one team from Bassetlaw that comprises of dads and another team of their sons.
