Darren is the Clowne King in Snowdonia

Clowne Road Runner Darren King took on one of the hardest races in Europe – Snowdonia Mountain Marathon.

This was an international field with King finishing ninth in a time of 2:51:17.

Clubmate Gemma Scougal finished second lady in the 1485 Duathlon, which took place at Twycross Zoo.

The running sections were off road, with an on road bike section and Scougal completed the 5km runs in 22.24 and 23.05 and the 14-mile bike ride in 43.30, finishing in 1:30:52.

The Worksop Half Marathon saw 14 Clowne Road Runners involved, in the club’s final Grand Prix race.

Daniel Page was first home in 01:18:12, followed by Peter Roberts 01:18:57, David Leese 01:30:06, Danny Scott 01:30:13, Steve Battle 01.31.35, Paul Sadler 01:32:28, Graham Worsfold 01:35:00, Paul Levitt 01:35:01, Andrew Foster 01:41:15, Paul Summerly 01:53:56, Deborah Leese 02:00:08, Suzanne Leusby 02:07:55, Jim McIntosh 02:08:02, and Emma Mackie 02:13:55.

The National Cross Country Relays were held at Berry Hill, Mansfield and Clowne entered a ladies team which finished in 77th in 42:46.

The team consisted of Gemma Scougal 13:26, Michelle Needham 14:44 and Mel Adams 14:35..

At the Manor Park 5k parkrun, Lynn Hazelton finished in exactly 30 minutes.

Paula Macpherson ran the Rother Valley parkrun in 26.15 (PB), while Samantha Coleclough finished third lady in 26.23 for the club bronze standard
