In the Knockout Shield at Beckingham, Melrose liked the slower conditions and had a slight lead for most of the match. They led by nine on one rink with the other three ending in draws. And as Melrose were ready to celebrate, Scotter overturned the lead and convincingly won 75 - 62.
In the Wednesday league matches Melrose strengthened their championship grip by beating Marshall A, ending their slim hopes of the title.
Scotter One easily beat visitors Misterton 8 – 2 (107 – 57) but they lose ground by two points dropped that they can ill afford.
