Elworthy claims a top-20 finish

Following on from last weekend's 15th place finish at the Milton Keynes Criterium Series, Velo-One's Matt Elworthy travelled to Derbyshire to compete in round one of the Darley Moor Closed Circuit Series.

Stepping up a level, the British Cycling Category 3 and 4 race attracted a full 100-rider field on a more technical course.

The race started at a high pace with speeds averaging above 25mph, with Matt positioning himself in a reduced lead group.

Some rider breakaways were attempted towards the end of the race, but the lead group were able to bring them all back, resulting in a group sprint finish and a top-20 finish for Matt.

Matt continues his road race season on March 25, returning to the Milton Keynes Criterium Series.
