Evolution gold run

Members of Boston's Evolution Martial Arts left the first round of this year's CIMAC Adidas Open with two golds, two silvers and two bronze medals.

Nesta Baxter, 15, fought in the -17 years girls’ -56kg points category and came away with her first gold of the day.

In the -17 years girls’ -56kg continuous section she claimed another gold.

Nesta then stepped up to the ladies’ -60kg continuous, where she received a bronze medal after some great fighting.

Chelsea Leggatt,16, fought in the girls’ +56kg continuous category, claiming silver.

Another silver was won by Teegan Aldis, nine, in the girls’ -31kg continuous category.

Teegan then met clubmate Paige Stedman, 10, in the girls’ -31kg point section, Paige claiming bronze after winning this third-place fight off.

Eight-year-old Archie Lenton fought in the boys’ -36kg point, finishing fourth after holding his own against much bigger competition.

Mackenzie Warrant, nine, had a great day of fighting and came away with two fourth places in the boys’ -31kg point and continuous.

Also fighting were Evolution’s Leah Stedman, Ben Watson, Kev Hunter, John Chambers, Tammy Horton, John Chambers and Matt Twitchen.
