Evolution's GB trials

After a very successful WAKO Great Britain National Championships in February, members of Team Evolution were invited to train with the Great Britain National team and to participate in the selection process.

If selected for the GB team then the junior and cadets will compete in the WAKO World Championships 2016 held in Dublin, Ireland, in September and the seniors will compete in Greece at the WAKO European Championships 2016.

The first national team training of the year was held in Coventry on and the second was held in Windsor.

Evolution’s Mark Baldry, Ben Watson, Kev Hunter, Chelsea Leggatt, Nesta Baxter, Zac Baldry, Talon Chambers and Mackenzie Warrant attended both of the training sessions.

The Great Britain training was a three-hour session which covered fitness, drills, analysis and sparring under the watchful eye of of top class Great Britain coaches, who specialise in each discipline.

Nesta, Zac, Talon and Mackenzie all took part in the points fighting session while Mark, Ben, Kev and Chelsea trained in light continuous.

Last year Nesta and Mark were selected to represent WAKO Team GB and Evolution Martial Arts at the WAKO World and European championships.

Nesta came home as the new WAKO Junior and Cadet European gold and silver medalist while Mark returned with a bronze medal from the WAKO World Senior Championships.
