Mike and Richard Bilton, who play for Richmond Park Croquet Club, are pictured receiving the trophy from Cass Hewson, of the host club.

They won six of their seven games in the prestigious competition, which attracted teams from Branston, as well as Gainsborough, to join Woodhall Spa members in their final event of the year.

The rain left pools of water on the lawns, which had to be continually brushed away. But everyone carried on smiling and the standard of play, led by the Biltons, was high.
