Five years ago a Pilgrims under 18s side including James Reed, Charley Sanders and Jordan Nuttell beat the Bantams 2-1 at York Street.

United booked their place in the second round of the FA Youth Cup following a dramatic fightback against Hereford FC last week.

The Pilgrims came from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 victory - with keeper Harry Payne also making a penalty save.

Rory Huntbach had given the Bulls a 16th-minute lead before Payne was called upon to deny Greg Preece from the penalty spot.

Huntbach then doubled the away side’s advantage with little more than 25 minutes to go.

But the Pilgrims refused to be beaten, with Bailey Forth reducing the arrears two minutes later and Jordan Tate making it 2-2 on 71 minutes. The winner arrived three minutes into stoppage time as Jack Brown settled the contest.

United’s youngsters will travel to face Bradford’s under 18s on Tuesday (KO 7.45pm).
