Below par Blues boys

UNDER 14s

Brigg Town 5

Gainsborough Trinity 2

FOR the second week running Trinity put in a below par performance and this time paid the price, with their first league defeat of the season.

Brigg raced into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 15 minutes.

Trinity finally got a foothold when from an Adam Bush corner Jack Weatherell powered in a header, and moments later a Bush free-kick was headed into his own net by a defender.

Gainsborough could have gone in front when another header was cleared off the line.

In the second half Brigg took a hold on the game and scored three times.

If not for Tinity keeper Josh Brockett making some fine saves the scoreline could have been even worse for Trinity.

Man of the Match was Sam Trowsdale.
