Dinnington Town have landed two high profile summer friendlies against two of South Yorkshire’s professional clubs.

Sheffield Wednesday make their annual trip to Phoenix Park in Steve Toyne’s side’s first pre-season game on 9th July.

And Rotherham United will follow suit on 13th July.

A club spokesman welcomed the fixtures, which bring in some much needed revenue for the Phoenix Park outfit.

The game against the Owls on Tuesday 9th will kick off at 7.30pm, while the Millers fixture kicks off on 3pm on Saturday 13th.

Meanwhile Town’s local rivals and fellow NCEL club Maltby Main are looking for a new manager.

Boss Chris Dunn has resigned from his position due to work commitments.

A club statement said: “The club would like to thank him for his efforts last season which saw the club finish much higher than expected in the Premier Division.”

“The club wish to quickly appoint Chris’ successor and interested applicants should contact secretary John Mills on 07795 693683 or [email protected].”
