Boss laments yet more woe on the road for Skegness
Chris Rawlinson says he’s keen for Skegness Town’s good home form to come to the fore as the Lilywhites prepare for five matches on their own patch before the season is out.
Eleven of Skegness’s 14 defeats this season have come on the road, the latest of those being a 5-0 defeat at leaders Sherwood Colliery last weekend.

And in assessing that game, joint-boss Rawlinson also highlighted that his side’s travel sickness has been a huge barrier to any progress this season.
He said: “The league table doesn’t lie – Sherwood are top for a reason – nor does it lie with the absolute difference with us away from home and at home.
"We’ve lost 11 times away from home this season, so for whatever reason we’re not adapting to being away. I don’t know if it’s the long journeys that are starting to get to the lads or it’s the different environments and pitch sizes, I can’t put my finger on it.
"On Saturday, fair play to Sherwood as I think they probably are the best side we’ve played away from home. They went 1-0 up in the first-half but I felt it was fairly even and we had our chances to maybe have gone in level.
"But in the second-half our performance was diabolical to be honest, we just looked like a side totally bereft of confidence and the willingness to work hard and deal with their threats, and we rolled over and got the result we deserved for our second-half display.
"It isn’t good enough and the lads are fully aware of that. The saving grace now is that we have seven games to go and five of them are at home, so we have to pick up points and end up with more than we had last season.
"We also need to enjoy being at home and playing in that way. It’s fairly ridiculous that we’ve only had two home games in 2026 and we’re in the middle of March – it doesn’t help with the club’s finances or anything like that – but luckily we have a solid base so can deal with it better than most.
"So we’ll put Saturday behind us and work hard in training on Wednesday and also see if we can get one or two more players into the group and go again at home to Gresley on Saturday which we’re looking forward to.”
