Boston Saturday League action has returned.

The Boston & District Saturday Football League returned to action for the first time since October 31 at the weekend.

However, there were only five games played, a number of those matches on hold due to sides not wishing to compete under the current tier three circumstances.

No games went ahead in the Workforce Unlimited Premier Division while the only game in Division One to take place saw Eagle United face Boston Town Reserves.

Eagle needed to win to go top of the league and they finally got the better off a hard battling Poachers second string, winning 3-2.

Louis Gosling (two) and Brandon Norman were the matchwinners.

In Division Two, leaders Freiston travelled to Spilsby Town Reserves looking to carry on their winning ways.

But it didn't go to plan as Spilsby found themselves 4-0 up thanks to Jordon Harness' hat-trick and a finish from Jordon Turner.

Spilsby's Herbie Nichols officiated the game due to the allocated referee not attending.

Billinghay Athletic put seven past Boston Athletic and, in the other game, Caythorpe got the better of Swineshead Institute Reserves in a 2-0 victory, Duncan McHosson and a Lee Bradley own goal granting Caythorpe victory.

In Division Three, FC Wrangle beat Eagle Reserves 3-0, Lee Waters scoring two and Perrie Dales hitting the other.
