Sharman Burgess Sports Cup

Swineshead Institute booked their palce in the last four of the Sharman and Burgess Sports Cup following a 4-0 home win against Leverton Sheepgate.

Dean Seiner scored two of the Swineshead goals while Kieran Rose and Callum Simmons also got on the score-sheet in a game where Leverton keeper Chase Maddison helped keep the score down.

Spilsby Town hit double figures in their home tie against Fulbeck United with Jordan Turner hitting a hat-trick.

Fulbeck were well below par and could only field 10 players for the game.

Town’s other goals came from Jordan Smith (two), Liam Papworth, Ryan Gilbert, Josh Wood, Jordan Wood and Bradley Shelton, while David Walkington grabbed the visitors’ consolation goal.

Two goals from Adam Underwood-Harley and another from Elliott Kelsall secured Billinghay Athletic’s place in the last four following a 3-2 home win against Woodhall Spa United.

Wyberton Reserves made it through to the semi finals after a 3-0 home win against first division Friskney, but the underdogs were by no means disgraced, giving a good account of themselves.

Bob Jackson hit the Wyberton crossbar midway first half before a critical moment went against the plucky visitors when they had their goal keeper sent off and Wyberton scored from the resulting penalty.

Friskney striker Greg Brown was then sent off following two yellow cards, forcing them to play out the second half with nine players.

Wyberton added two more goals to run out 3-0 winners.

Taylors Garages Premier Division

Old Leake had a game they will quickly want to forget after a disastrous home match against Boston College in the Taylors Garages Premier Division.

Leake were missing several key players and had to sign two players on before kick-off.

Their troubles didn’t stop there as players suffered injuries during the game, leaving them down to 10 and nine players on occasions as one of the named substitutes was late arriving.

After falling behind on the half hour mark, the College soon rattled in a further five goals to lead 6-0 at the interval.

College made it 7-0 in the second half before one of Leake’s new signings was forced to leave the action, leaving the home side with just nine players.

Adam Tempest did grab a consolation goal for Old Leake before the visitors hit an eighth and late goal wrapped up the scoring at 9-1.

Pointon edged out Coningsby in a seven-goal thriller. Jamie Andrews, Nathan Wilson,

Dom Kew and Ian Jacquest were all on target for Pointon in a 4-3 home win.

Taylors Peugeot Division One

In the Taylors Peugeot Division One, Railway Athletic came out 3-1 winners away against a good Horncastle Reserves side to remain top of the table.

The first half was a scrappy affair with both teams creating chances, but neither managing to break the deadlock.

Railway opened the scoring within the first few minutes of the re-start following excellent work from Liam Nimmo on a corner, Curtis Yeatman firing home from just inside the box.

Horncastle pulled it back level through Alden Midmer after a mistake in the Railway back line before Nimmo put Railway back in front after overpowering the defender and chipping over the onrushing keeper.

The result was sealed by Nicky Frost who broke free down the left, rounded the keeper and made no mistake tucking the ball home to make it 3-1.

Fishtoft entertained Old Doningtonians and, after a messy first half, the home side took the lead the through Sam Wright before Old Dons drew level with a well taken finish just before half time.

The second half started in a similar disjointed fashion before Fishtoft finally clicked into gear and they scored at regular intervals through Luis Mundt, Ben Hardstaff, Casey Sullivan and Neil Allen to finish up 5-1 winners.

The basement battle between Fosdyke and FC Kirton turned out to be a really good game which was settled by a solitary goal.

Fosdyke shaded the first half with no reward, although Leon Marsh burst clean through twice but was unable to finish before FC Kirton took the lead straight after the re-start when a looping cross went over the keeper’s head and Scott Ekins could only head it in to the path of a grateful Kirton player who smashed it home from eight yards out.

There were further chances at both ends but no addition to the 1-0 score-line.

Kirton Town went down to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home at the hands of Swineshead Reserves.

While their attack were firing blanks at one end, they were conceding goals at the other with Giles Favell scoring twice and Chris Wing grabbing the other.

Taylors Ford Division Two

Third-placed Coningsby Reserves pulled off the surprise result of the day when they thrashed Pointon Reserves - who were second in the Taylors Ford Division Two table - 6-1.

Mark Jameson and Danny Cottingham both scored twice.

Andy Chapman and Lee Marshall were also on target

Two goals from James Fairburn helped Spilsby Town to three valuable points following their 5-0 home win against Park United.

Will Allen, Robert Kent and Dominic Griffin hit the other goals for Town.

Troy Ayton and Jack Hill both hit two goals apiece in Wrangle’s 5-1 home win against Pointon Reserves.

Jason Scutt grabbed the other Wrangle goal.

Taylors Vauxhall Division Three

Wyberton A achieve their target of promotion from the Taylors Vauxhall Division Three with four games spare.

A goal in the first two minutes from the unsung hero Steen Bates got them off to a great start.

College scored on counter attack but the Reeson brothers fired a goal a piece to make it 3-1.

Mackenzie Smyth then hit a pinpoint cross to find Jason Allen, whose bullet header put the tie to bed.

College scored in the last minute to make it 4-2.

The College goals came from Lucas Wright and Sheridon Goodhand.

Gary Lee was on target for Old Doningtonians Reserves in their 1-1 draw at home to Spalding Harriers.

Tom Atkinson replied for the Spalding side.

Dave Wilson and Calcan Valentin were on target for Holbeach Bank in their home game against Benington Reserves, but it was the visitors who snatched maximum points following a 3-2 away win.

Dan Fox struck twice for Benington while Rowan Evans grabbed the other matchwinner.

Two goals from Daniel Broughton helped Northgate Olympic to a 5-2 away win at Leverton Reserves.

Jake Ellis, Mark Davis and Rob Spencer also got on the scoresheet for Northgate.
