Mark Angel’s side may sit a division above their hosts, who currently compete in the UCL Division One, but they are lacking in recent match action.

After seeing contests against Leicester Nirvana and Eynesbury postponed, Town haven’t played competitively since January 2’s 1-0 victory over Harborough.

However, Blackstones find themselves in a similar situation, their last fixture being a 3-3 draw with Oakham United on December 28.

The Poachers may also have a different look to the team which defeated Harborough, after bringing in three new players.

Italian midfielder Alessandro Zarrelli, 31, has joined from North West Counties League side Widnes, having also previously played this season for St Cuthbert Wanderers in the South of Scotland League.

The Turin-born player’s previous clubs include Lisburn Distillery, AFC Wimbledon, Queens Park, Northwich Victoria, Hucknall Town and Lincoln Moorlands Railway.

Meanwhile, former Skegness United midfielder Andy Reeson has arrived from Alford Town and striker Nathan Thompson joins the DWB Stadium club from Sleaford Town Reserves.

However, coach Leighton Atkin has joined Corby Town to work with their youth set-up.

On Saturday, Town host Cogenhoe United in UCL Premier action (KO 3pm).

The Poachers’ UCL Knockout Cup tie at Northampton Sileby Rangers has been scheduled for January 30.

The winners will travel to Holbeach United in the quarter-finals.
