Boston United ‘feel like favourites’ every time they take to the pitch, according to Scott Garner.

The defender is enjoying his return to the club and believes Craig Elliott has assembled a special squad brimming with confidence.

“We're such a good team at the minute, it’s great to be involved in and you love playing,” he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

“We feel like we're favourites when we go into whichever game.

“We’re full of confidence. We train well and play well and we’ve got to keep the points coming now.”

Saturday’s 1-0 win at Southport moved the Pilgrims up to third in the National League North, with the side still unbeaten this season.

“We did enjoy it to be honest, against a physical striker (Marcus Carver),” Garner reflected, following the victory in windswept conditions.

“If he wants to battle we'll battle with him all day.

“We were on top but it wasn’t as dominant as Tuesday (the 1-1 draw with Guiseley). But in difficult conditions we got over the line.”

United return to action tomorrow as they travel to Bradford Park Avenue (KO 7.45pm).

But Garner isn’t concerned about the quick turnaround.

He added: “We’ve got great sports scientist and physios who tell us what we need to do and we’ll be ready to go again.

“But look at the squad we've got, you could change five or six and we'll still be really strong.”
