Boston United keeper makes move to Stockport County

Boston United goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons has completed a move to National League promotion chasers Stockport County.

The 26-year-old has moved to Edgeley Park for a small undisclosed fee following 16 appearances and seven clean sheets for the Pilgrims.

His performances won him the National League North player of the month award for December.

United manager Craig Elliott said: “In his short time at the club, Ross showed his pedigree as an outstanding keeper.

“When Stockport County contacted us about the possibility of taking him for the rest of the season, I felt it was a good offer and especially a good opportunity for Ross that we could not turn down.

“He goes with our best wishes – and we wish Stockport the best of luck in their quest for promotion back to the EFL.”
