Craig Elliott was left weighing up the pros and cons as Boston United's clash at Alfreton Town was postponed.

The contest will be re-arranged at a date yet to be set due to a frozen pitch at the Impact Arena this morning.

The Pilgrims were hoping to build on their run of six unbeaten games - in which they have conceded just once - at the side second-bottom of the National League North this afternoon.

"I am (frustrated), to be honest, more so because it feels like we're going back to those inconsistencies again, stop-start," said Elliott, whose side have now seen 10 matches postponed, abandoned or withdrawn from this term.

"We've been on a good run and getting stronger. It's just another stop in the season.

"We're in good form, that's the main thing in this league. We need to build on that, we're six unbeaten and, not only that, playing well."

However, Elliott refused to be too downbeat as the blank weekend now allows members of his squad to further rest minor injuries in the build-up to Tuesday's home clash against Kettering Town (KO 7.45pm).

"You look at it now, we need to be ready," added Elliott, whose side still face seven matches this month.

"The positive is it gives us a little break and we have got a few niggles. Now those lads can get fully fit.

"We had four or five lads carrying injuries that would have played (at Alfreton), but it just gives them a few extra days to be right for Tuesday."
