Home comforts will be key if Boston United want to secure promotion, according to Craig Elliott.

The Pilgrims boss says his squad need to maintain their form at York Street for the rest of the campaign if they are to secure a National League North play-off spot.

“Home form is going to be vital for us, “ said Elliott, whose side will play 10 of their final 17 league games in Lincolnshire.

“The pitch is a bit of a concern for me as it’s not as fast flowing as I’d like it to be, but we’ve got a good record at home this season and we need to build on that.”

United have lost just one of their 11 home league games to date, to leaders King’s Lynn, claiming seven wins and three draws.

“I found it funny reading some of the comments after we drew at home with Curzon (0-0 on January 7) because we’ve done well at home so far," Elliott added.

“It’s important we continue that now.

"We’re fully aware that this is the club’s final season at York Street and we wanted to make some memories before we left. It’s vital that continues.”

Struggling Kidderminster will visit the Jakemans Stadium on Saturday, with United looking to record their third straight victory over the Harriers (KO 3pm).

Jordan Thewlis, Dominic Knowles and Jonathan Wafula were on target as the Pilgrims won 3-1 at Aggborough in December, incoming manager Jimmy Shan’s first game as Kidderminster boss.

Saturday’s home draw against Spennymoor Town ended a three-game losing streak for them.

“We’ve done well against them in the last two or three games,” Elliott continued. “We played really well at Kidderminster.

“But since we won there it’s been a case of new manager, new players. They’ll be a bit of a different team but we’ve got confidence in ourselves.”
