Carl Piergianni says Boston United are preparing for '˜10 cup finals' as they look to book their place in the National League North play-offs.

The Pilgrims travel to promotion rivals AFC Fylde on Saturday (KO 3pm), with the stakes as high as ever as the club enters the business end of the season.

And Piergianni is demanding that Boston do enough to end the campaign in the top five - with a chance of promotion very much still on the cards.

“If we keep winning our games we’ll definitely cement our place in the play-offs,” the defender said.

“We just need to keep getting points on the board to get up there.

“Every game, the last 10 games of the season, are all cup finals.

“It doesn’t matter what games you win, you just need enough points on the board to be in the play-offs at the end of the season.

Last season saw the Pilgrims go unbeaten for the final 10 matches of the campaign as they finished third in the standings, and Piergianni is calling on a repeat performance to keep those dreams of returning to non-league’s top flight very much alive.

“We want to go on an unbeaten run and get ourselves into good form going into the last 10, like we did last year,” he added.

“We don’t want to be peaking 10 games from the end of the season, we need to make sure we’re peaking come the play-offs.”

United have lost their past two games against the Coasters, going down 3-0 at the Jakemans Stadium in September and 3-0 at Kellamergh Park last season.

Piergianni added: “We’ve struggled against Fylde a couple of times, not in the games, but being on the end of wrong results.

“We can definitely get a result and we won’t be frightened.”
