With 10 minutes to go and the Pilgrims trailing 2-1, the striker was left sprawled on the floor following a heavy challenge.

Referee Martynb Rawlcliffe said ‘no’, but the striker disagrees.

“I believe it was,” he said.

“I’ve touched it and the guy’s come through me so there’s not much you can do from that.

“It’s up to the ref and he thinks it’s not.

“I think it’s definitely a penalty without a doubt.”

Nathan Cartman and David Syers put the away side 2-0 up before Karl Hawley reduced the arrears.

But Pilgrims boss Adam Murray believes his side should have had more to show from a solid second half following a slow start.

He said: “I think we’ve had opportunities and needed to do better, balls in the box.

“The second half’s a landslide, we should have had six or seven goals.

“I think we’ve been denied a blatant penalty so I’m very frustrated.”
