Boston United have signed former Notts County keeper Ross Fitzsimons.

The 26-year-old stopper has become the Pilgrims’ fifth summer signing after leaving the Magpies, where he played 46 times in the Football League.

Fitzsimons will battle Peter Crook for a place in the starting XI.

The Hammersmith-born keeper came though the Crystal Palace youth set up and was also on the books of Bolton Wanderers when they were in the Championship.

Fitzsimons also has experience with Hendon, Havant & Waterlooville, Farnborough, Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree Town and Chelmsford City.

He had been with County since 2017, and spent a brief spell on loan at Chesterfield last season.

Fitzsimons follows Jordan Burrow, Lewis Gibbens and Paul Green as the club’s summer recruits so far.
