Fitzsimons will battle Peter Crook for a place in the starting XI.

The Hammersmith-born keeper came though the Crystal Palace youth set up and was also on the books of Bolton Wanderers when they were in the Championship.

Fitzsimons also has experience with Hendon, Havant & Waterlooville, Farnborough, Bishop’s Stortford, Braintree Town and Chelmsford City.

He had been with County since 2017, and spent a brief spell on loan at Chesterfield last season.

Fitzsimons follows Jordan Burrow, Lewis Gibbens and Paul Green as the club’s summer recruits so far.
